BRS VS Spectrapure RODI units

Which system is better for RODI outcomes. I have a 400-gallon tank and perform 20 percent automatic water changes with pre-maid saltwater. I also have an Auto top off that also uses the DI.

Both can be identical, depends on the filters you choose. All totally a matter of personal preference.

So I don't have a 1:1, I have a double RODI unit. I am thinking of replacing the RODI unit for a 1:1. Anyone else change the RODI and see a difference?

The units themselves make zero difference. They are hunks of plastic which usually use the same exact filters. What makes a difference is the filters, and your water pressure (or if you have a booster pump).

I don't know if you have heard of AZDesertRat, a member on here and a few other forums. He works in the water purification industry and is kind of the RO guru on many forums, but he always claimed Spectrapure are by far the best filters. You can look up his comments on most of the big forums and read his opinions.

Agree. Great filters, best RO membranes and DI around. My RODI is Spectrapure as is the membranes I use. However I get my prefilter, carbon and DI from BRS due to the lower cost and still high quality.

I’ve got a manual flush myself.

I flush the membrane before making water and after making water.

I am not convinced that a flush valve is needed on a home RODI system.

Yes. Both brands use a filmtec membrane
