Brs/Wsc cycling

Just watched the brs/Wwc cycle video.

When first cycling dry rock in a brute trash can, at what point do I transfer it to the display tank? Also can the dry rock cycle with the lid with no lights for the first couple months?

(Reasoning being for the trash can is, I’m not getting the tank until 4-6 weeks and I want to jump start the cycle)

Absolutely go for it. I created my aquascapes and stuck my dry rock in a brute back in November, still waiting for my tank.
When it does finally arrive, I have some well cured rock, so my tank will be instantly ready to go.
