Hello,

I decided to get back in the act after a decade hiatus. I am restarting a 28g old JBJ Nano Cube for the first time in 10 years. Here is the list of gear I'm running so far, right now it's just reefsaver dry rock cooking in the stew.

28g nano
Radion G5 x15 Pro replacing the original Nano 150w MH lid - tank will be open top
2 265 gph accella return pumps in the left and right pump collumns
1 265 gph Koralia nano powerhead (old and may not be used)
1 565 gph Koralia nano powerhead (new)
wavemaker - will probably set this for the stronger Koralia if it is wavemaker friendly. Old koralia is NOT wavemaker friendly.
100w titanium heater w/ controller
1 Modified filter basket in the rear with mechanical sponge filter in the top, chaeto in the middle, and a bag 2/3 rox .8 carbon and regular GFO granules in the bottom
***Filter basket is removed for initial curing/cycling of the dry rock
Nano Refugium 4 light LED
2 bags of MarinePure ceramic balls in the left and right heater/skimmer collumns
JBJ stock skimmer w/ wooden stones and air pump (will be replaced soon)
***also removed for cycling
ATO (nonexistent but my first priority for new gear)
25 pounds of Reefsaver rock. Wish I had watched more BRS TV prior to ordering this as it seems there are better options that hold a larger amount of water/bacteria

Can't think of much else, the tank will be bare bottom. Started cycling last Friday, using a sort of shrimp cycle, planning on changing the shrimp every 3 days until ammonia starts to go down, once ammonia is almost gone and nitrites are headed down i'll figure out cleanup crew and probably introduce it around week 3-4. I'll probably introduce some copepods then as well and use them as a coal mine canary and if they look to survive consider adding a fish and maybe a hardier coral. Ultimately I'd like the tank to be a mixed reef with a mix of SPS and LPS and maybe a small Crocea or Derasa if I can get enough light off the x15 for it. Most of it will migrate to a much larger tank in the next 6 months as I get away from the nano. Ultimately I see this nano becoming either a fragging tank or even crazy thoughts about piping it into a much larger 100+ gallon system and using it for just a giant 12" clam in an otherwise empty tank. Yes I'm odd.

Welcome to the R2R family! You should head over to the member tanks forum and start a build thread. It’s a great way to track your progress
