Hi all, I recently switched from a 5 gallon container to a 20 gallon for my auto topoff to draw RODI water from. Does anyone else use a Brute Container? Problem I am having is when I make my RODI it is 3ppm and when I add it to the 20 gallon container it gradually goes up to sometimes over 200ppm... It is clean, and when i purchased it I cleaned it with warm water, are chemicals leaching into the water? what is causing my high TDS numbers?

Is it made from food grade plastic? Is it possible you have any kind of back-siphon going back into the ATO container that may be mixing very small amount of salt water into the RO/DI?

It is not food grade plastic... As far as a back siphon thats is also a no, but I do use the same hose that I do my water changes with, so it is possible it has salt water. As far as my tank, I have zero nitrates, and very little phosphates, but I do have a current battle with Cyano bacteria.

If the container is not food grade it is posible its leaching something into the water. Maybe try going back to the old container for awhile and see if the TDS remains stable. If it does then its probably pretty safe to assume its the container. Just my oppinion. Have you tested the water coming out of the 20g container with elevated TDS for phospahtes?
