I am currently playing with the idea of a Mangrove/macro algae tank with a spare 32g Brute I have in my garage. It currently has the live rock I'm curing in it until my new tank arrives, once I move the rock to new tank I was considering a stand alone system.
Purpose of the system would to be growing copious amount of pods/ mysis/ and other critters to feed all of my wrasses. I would place multiple pod hotels inside to easily take them out and feed wrasses whenever needed. Also would just be cool to have a system like this to see what happens and grow some some cool critters.
Wondering what best method would be for Mangroves, do they need a deep sand bed? also would it be smart to dose phosphate and nitrate? I might just put 2-3 damsels in there for fish as I don't think they would decimate the pod population.
Would love to hear thoughts and suggestions!
