The prices I quoted were from their Craigslist ad. They're higher on their website.

Yep, they had pickles in them. :) They claim on their website some of them have preservatives in them, but they've all been cleaned out before being sold.

I might be interested in one or two of these 55-gallon drums... Wish I had room for the 225 gallon reservoirs. Not sure what I would do with them but they are a good price. LOL

I did some research and the brute rated NSF 2 is food safe or food contact. The one I have is LDPE. I would prefer it to be HDPE instead of low density.
NSF is not for long term storage. should be fine for what we use it for. As stated before I don't store water in them just fill and mix then empty.

I'm also wanting to switch to HDPE. The 55g plastic barrels seem to be the best/most economical bet.

I found a company that is selling pickle barrels for $25 each. Free shipping with 3 or more. I think they're similar to 55g plastic drums, but a little beefier.

Anyone interested in getting some?

Any way we could see what they look like? Have any idea what they had in them??

Ya...I've seen a few different colors and styles offered before. If it matters, they will usually send you photos. A lot of times the folks that offer these also have different sized barrels as well as those huge IBC containers, all recycled from the food industry. If you're getting a delivery, may as well make worthwhile! :)

Hey Tim! Good to see you around. :)

If I order them, I'm not completely sure when it would be. I need to get lights before I get just about anything else. :) But with free shipping on only 3, that's not bad at all.
