Bryopsis algae help

I am starting to see a bit of bryopsis in my display. The frag tank is plumbed into the same system and has none. I would get a one spot foxface, but I only have a 90 gal display.
If I were to raise my mag to 1600 would I also need to raise the cal to 530 to keep the correct ratio?

So my bryopsis is showing some white tint on it. Does it mean it's ready for me to pull it out? Or let it come off on it's own? My mg is at 1800ppm and I've been using tech m.

No. The ratio of calcium to magnesium is not, IMO, a god way to control these chemicals. Just because one of them is high or low does not mean that the other should be (unless it us just the result of overall salinity changes).

That's a good sign. It may fall off on its own, but if you can pull it out and remove it, you are exporting the nutrients in it.

Thanks Randy. I'm going to do a 20% water change tomorrow and start raising my mag. How much should I raise per day? 200 ppm per day is what I was thinking. I can easily do the calculations and add the appropriate amount. I just don't want to raise it too quickly. Right now my mag is around 1300, so I will need quite a bit for the 140 gallons of total system volume.
