I got my 20 pills today 250g tank.... 20mg/1g? 250X20= 5000mg. 200Mg pills = 25 pills?
Looks like im short. Think i should still dose? Or re-order and do full 5000mg?

I would probably at least do a small water change, run two days of chemiclean, then a big water change. After that you can go back and restart your Fluconazole treatment.

This is how I ran my chemiclean after the flucon. (with the exception that I didn't have to restart another flucon treatment)
Any reason you can think of that would cause fluconazole and chemi clean to have a negative reaction with eachother?

What's your total water volume? You should subtract at least 15% for equipment,sand, rocks. 250gal - 15% is 212.50 S0 just say 200gal x 20mg/gal =4000mg which is 20 capsules.

Okay I need some help. My Cyano runnith over! So here is the deal. Started dosing Vibrant mid November. Took care of most what I needed to - except the bryopsis which we all know can be an issue with Vibrant. About a month (maybe 6 weeks) ago started getting some bad Cyano- was doing weekly 40 gallon changes on a 320 (ish) gallon system -Vacuuming- blowing off rocks etc etc etc.

Cut back vibrant to 1x a week from 2x a week.

Last night
Phos (Hannah ULR) 0.03
Nitrate - (red Sea) Undetectable
Calc - 420 (little low for what it has been)
ALK - 7.9dkh (little low for what it has been)
Mag - 1300

So I started the flucon 2 nights ago. I came home tonight and MAN the cyano has bloomed up big time. when i did my dose of flucon - i turned off carbon, GFO and UV. I turned my skimmer down just for O2 exchange (have a reeflo orca) Have the overflow going in the sump for now instead of bucket.

My ORP dropped about 75 points from last night to tonight.

Ride it out??? I blew off the rocks - was thinking i could do a waterless waterchange (one tank would need to drain through a sock into a barrel while I pump it back into the sump to get some out.

Ideas? Bueller bueller......

gonna post this on the Vibrant thread as well.

I had a huge outbreak of cyano from using Vibrant. I treated my tank with Fluconazole for 14 days to kill the bryopsis.Afterwards I did a 10% water change, then ran 2 days of chemiclean. Cyano was gone in 2 days. Did a 25% water change after that.Waited 2 days did another 25% water change and all is well.

The meds arrived today!!!
A little history on this tank... 30g cube, up and running beautifully for almost 18mo. No sump - I do weekly(ish) WCs.

About 4 months ago I noticed several broccoli-like clumps of algae. Then suddenly it was an algae invasion! I have red bubble algae, bryopsis, GHA, and possibly mutations of them all. I was considering dosing bleach and starting over. Then I found this thread!

I'm planning a 10g WC before dosing 600mg Saturday morning. As odd as it sounds, I'm actually looking forward to the next 2 weeks!

Oh one more thing....cure time about ten days? No water changes for that time i assume. Best to also reduce skimming too?
Would be silly to filter out whst i just put in the tank!

Are people getting Cyano Fluconazole?
I got a terrible outbreak of cyano with vibrant. Stopped vibrant and chemicleaned my system before treating with fluconazole. I did 1 26.5g wc in between. I have not seen that cyanobacteria since

Most people are getting the cyan from using Vibrant. I'm not sure if something in the Vibrant is causing the cyano or if it is coming from Vibrant dropping certain nutrients quickly and causing it.
Ok good, I know nothing about Vibrant. Just plan on using the fluconazole.

I'm just torn. Wish I would have dosed chemi clean first. Should I continue my flucon, and just blow the cyano daily? I don't know if cyano will or can overtake...

I am with you on that one. At this point $40 worth of flucon. Im gonna do some waterless changes (syphon through a filter sock into the sump) to try to get some of it at bay.
