Bryopsis Cure: My Battle With Bryopsis Using Fluconazole

Got my capsules in the mail waiting at my house for me! I've got a JBJ 28g NG. I'm planning to dose 2 1/2 capsules.

WC tomorrow and let the death begin!

I'm the same config as you CP and I dosed 3x 200mg capsules to go slightly over the average (I have about 25g water displacement based on a recent move of the tank).

I'm on day 3 today and I'm starting to see some transparency to the bryopsis, I'm optimistic that day 5 & 6 is going to get me excited about a cure

Has anyone ordered from fishantibiotics? Payless will not let me order 30 tablets at a time

Day 14 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! actually i'm a day late... been busy....

Result is...... I am now 100% bryopsis free !!!!!!!!!!! still doing my happy dance after 24 hours

Quick summary...

Good points..... when I dosed the fluconazole, I turned pumps off and used a turkey baster to target bryopsis areas, that worked well. Left pumps off for 30 mins.

Bad points..... I turned skimmer on after just 24 hours, really needs to be off longer, i would say a week minimum.

My spinning ball of chaeto completely disintegrated!!! BUT, I was also dosing Vibrant for 3 weeks , 2 x per week and during 1st week after fluconazole, so I think it was the vibrant or combination.

No coral or fish or invert problems at all. BTA was happy throughout.

Nitrates rose from normal 0.2ppm to 1-2ppm at highest
Phosphates rose from normal 0.015 to 0.1ppm ..... had a small cyano outbreak, again maybe due to use of vibrant.... easily cleared.

Day 1 - Before

Day 14 - 100% bryopsis free !!!

I can't thank @Sabellafella and @NCreefguy and everyone else here enough for this thread and helping others so much!

After the 14 days, I cleaned everything, did a double water change, fresh GFO and Carbon... tank looks great again

@prsnlty ok, one FTS coming up, scape is horrible at the moment, I was half way through removing rocks and soaking for a week in H2O2 to kill bryopsis before this thread started!

I'm going to rescape now anyway.... no more big caves.... i'm going for more minimalist now

Is that a happy looking tank now!

I first tried the Mg >2000, but all my snails stopped moving at 1600... so I didn't go any further..... they are all ok now!

+1 Sure is a game changer [emoji2] NO more spending countless hours pulling it and getting nowhere. No more wasting money on treatments that simply don't work. And no more people quitting the hobby because of it... Yeah it's awesome!

Wow i havnt even stopped by this thread for a while. Amazing that everyones on the road to success. Tell you the truth, im not even afraid to get bryopsis anymore. Ive already bought the pills just incase lol.

As Prsnlty said but if your country wont let you import them (of if you don't want to risk ordering just for them to take it away) then you can also ask a vet. That is where I got mine from, as it is also used to treat fish (in higher doses).
