Bryopsis Cure: My Battle With Bryopsis Using Fluconazole

I had started using vibrant and am only on my 5th dose however while the first couple of doses seemed to make a difference the following haven't so order some flu and dosed yesterday I have a very bad outbreak [emoji40] I'm still dosing vibrant though and dosed 10x 200mg

Did my 14 days with no skimmer and carbon, I would say Fluconazole cleared about 70% of my algea, It was pretty bad in places, so hopefully the second dose I did yesterday will wipe the rest out, I may add my duncans do not like this med, they seem a lot smaller and lost a fat bit of colour.

How precise do you need to be on guessing you tank volume?

What dose did you use, and when you say 70% of your algae, do you mean 70% of your bryopsis?

9 capsules in my reefer 350, Bryopisis yes, I am also using vibrant once a week up to my 18th dose on that.

Interesting...My Duncan's got bigger. Maybe feed it a little extra mysis or some reef bugs complete.

Are you sure what you have is bryopsis and not green hair algae? 70% at around 14 days is about right for gha.

Wow, be careful you don't starve your corals. Vibrant did that to my tank and never put a dent in the bryopsis.

I may have had a mixture, defo was fern like ends on these, vibrant got shot of my turf algae, i always thought GHA was easy to get away unlike Bryopsis.

My two and half year long losing battle is starting to look like I'm now back in charge of my reef tank. I was so close to a reboot on the tank its not even funny...

I'm feeding sps food and acropower so hopefully there'd be alright I'll cut down to one dose a week of vibrant from next week

I did a 25% water change at 1 week, with no additional medication.

I dosed 1/3 of a dose after my normal WC on day 14, just to help along the stubborn GHA.

Excellent!! I'm glad it's working for you. It won't take long and you'll have your tank back with no more worries of tearing it down.

Just get it close to what you think you have. Maybe take off 15% or so of your water volume for your rock/sand/equipment.
