Going on day 3 of the treatment and I can't say there is a huge difference yet. Looks like the bryopsis is starting to thin, but no change to the gha yet. I will post before and after pics at the 7 day mark.

Really glad you asked. I've been reading off and on and had not seen this answered. I was going through every page now to find the answer. Tn happy I don't have to read through 85 pages
Thank you

The fluconazole eliminated my bryopsis and GHA in the 75g tank without bothering any of the inhabitants (including a coral banded shrimp). In the end, I decided to take the tank down anyway because there was enough water damage to the stand over the years that I was concerned it might fall over.

Based on this experience, I treated my nanocube with fluconazole. This tank has 3 BTAs in it. The treatment was largely successful with nearly all of the green algae gone (bryopsis and GHA). There is some amount of a brown algae left here and there and a dark brush algae on a few corals that is impervious to any sort of treatment I have tried (fluconazole, or H2O2). BTAs are apparently happy and inflated.

All in all, I am happy with fluconazole and think it a great solution to this scourge.

Just use the search function to search through just this thread. I have 2 coral banded shrimp and they are fine (mentioned it a few times) after two treatments. I also have 2 BTA and they are also fine (forgot to mention them in my post though)

Day four.

Not seeing much action, but some of the tips are white, broken, or a weird brown color. It's gonna be a long haul for me I think.

I didn't see any obvious effects until day 4 or 5.

I'm on day 4 and have lost my pincushion urchin but not my tuxedo urchin
What is you total water volume and how much did you dose? What are your parameters?

I have a tiny pincushion in a 29g that I dosed and large pincushion and tuxedo in a 180 that I dosed twice. Everything is well.

Just joined this forum to seek some help.. I have been following this thread since the start and happy to see the success everyone is having!
We have been fighting with this devil spawn for a long long time now.. I only learned it existed after someone posted this thread on an Aussie FB page, all this time I thought I was fighting GHA and losing my mind wondering why its still here with the low nutrients we have only to learn the bad and good news.
Sadly in Australia you cant buy this without a prescription and even though I have been trying for months I cant source it anywhere :(
I was hoping I can get someone to send me some if that is at all possible... Im happy to transfer some money over with a bit extra for the help but Im getting desperate now.. Its starting to choke out our corals and I cant stop it.

How much do you need? I'm in the UK and order mine from the US but if no one in the states can help I'd be happy to, but you'd be paying for postage to the UK and also to Oz.

I think this medication needs enough "plant" ( vs "root") with bio-activity going on for the ergosterol interference to be meaningful. I think is somehow is tied to photosynthesis. You know how certain weed killers kill the plants roots by soaking into its leaves, and others soak up thru the roots to kill the plants? Looking forward to what your experience is with this go round.
This may be why it seems to work very slowly on the short, weak and pale gha in my tank.

We are at 700+ Litres so about 20 200mg capsules. Thanks for the offer might take you up on it if no one else can help. May I ask how much it was to ship to the UK?

To the UK it's $29.99 for 20 capsules, plus $15 1st class post. My first lot took just 6 days to arrive, I'm now waiting for a second batch to re-treat if needed and according to tracking it's been at the UPS facility for 3 days with no movement.

There is a blizzard happening in the northern US. Could be why it isn't moving.

Apparently Australia has steep customs issues when it comes to meds. That is why the pet meds sites can't ship there. So you need to double check the rules on it from the UK to AU.

Yeah I know that it might get stopped but at least getting it from someone instead of an Indian pharmacy there is some chance that they might send it while the Indian pharmacy will just take my money.
I have extinguished my other options so willing to take a risk now.

Well I hope it's not too bad for all the folk living up there and they stay safe. Just seen some pics of it on the web, looks horrendous . Here in the SE of the UK it's a beautiful spring morning and the sun's out. The bluebells are coming up in the woods, the frogs are in my little wildlife pond in my garden and there's loads of spawn.

Hey mate, fluconazole is used to treat fish as well so vets carry it.

I took the first page of this thread in to the vet (printed) along with pics of my algae and he was more than happy to give me what I needed (twice). It costs more than if you have a script but you can get it. It cost me $80 for 20x200mg capsules and also had to pay a vet consult fee of $50, the second time I didn't need to pay the consult fee and was allowed to just buy the meds straight up.

My pistol shrimp is still with me ( I never see it but do hear it) Not sure about my hermits as I have not seen them) My RFA and carpet Nems are find so far

I got it from eBay :
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/142275227542
It took 15 days to arrive in Europe. It is a russian brand but it worked very well in my tank.

Well - not sure if I did not treat long enough or what my deal is but it came back and came back strong! I also had some GHA appear in the DT which I NEVER have had before. So last night I commensed round #2 I dosed 30 capsuls in about 260-270 total water volume tank. Skimmer empties back into the sump - I am keeping it on for the O2 exchange and UV is off. I am going to go to 4/1 before a water change.
