As fare I know the Reef flux will not kill the fishes and coral
Is probably the wrasse hide him self in the sand and just give it time a d he will show up.
For using tge reef flux you should keep it for more days meaning more than 2 weeks because the killing process of the alge will start after 2 weeks, you can do WC but just go for 10% and monitor the PO4 and NO3 always to keep it balanced.
All the best

Thanks. I'm going into my third day. No real changes to my turf algae spots, so i'll wait until after week 2 to really expect something. But they said it was OK to put my skimmer back on after 3 days. I don't plan to do water changes for at least 2 weeks, but will the skimmer being back on start to remove the fluconazole? Also, I removed all my carbon but I left a bag of Phosgard in since I was told that will not affect the fluco.

About the cleaner wrasse, he was a cave dweller, never in the sand. He had once particular cave he would sleep in every night. Just weird he disappeared the night after starting reef flux.

Yes you can put the skimmer on after 3 days when you dose the Reef Flux, the skimmer will not remove the Reef Flux fluconazole as the medicen already dissolve well, you can go long with the Reef Flux like 1 month and then do a water change but again you have to monitor the PO4 and NO3 and yes you can use rowphos or any PO4 media absorb along with the Reef Flux and this when you turn on the skimmer after the 3rd day.

The article here in 1st page that talks about the medicen Fluconazole how it work and kills all the Bryopsis in the reef tank and really a big Thanks to NCreefguy he is the one how show us how to kill this alge in the tank in the safe way and easy way.

Now a days we have Reef Flux which is more easy way to kill the Bryopsis and most of the unwanted alge in the tank and it's safe as well and me I find it very low cost from my 1st treatment when i buy the Fluconazole from the pharmacy.

Again and Again big Thanks to ( NCreefguy ) with out his article about the Fluconazole treatment I personally quit the reef tank hobby.

Happy reefing everyone [emoji2]

Hi all I’m new to the site, dosed reef flux Saturday night still no change in my Bryopsis as of yet but I’m only at day 4 with skimmer off. I have various corals lps and softies with no affects at all or what I can see. Also have a red bubble anemone with 2 clowns a flame angel and a file fish. Also blood shrimp and peppermint shrimp and 2 urchins with no affects. Fingers crossed the 2 week treatment will work on the algae.

Read the 1st page and the last reply in this page.
Understand the medicen affect and check the new way to use the reef flux, then things will be fine [emoji3]

Hi Friends I need a helps....

have some problem if I continue dosing Nopox and Ozone? Have some restriction ?

Has anyone had to do multiple treatments for bryopsis? I started my tank with Dry Pukani that I Muratic acid washed and bleach washed over a year ago. I have treated twice for byropsis. All visable signs of byropsis have been eliminated but return in the same spots approx 3 months later. My outbreak if fairly small and seem to appear in the same exact spots on my rock. I started my third treatment today and imagine that some of the bryopsis cells are deep within the Pukani. I'm wondering if I should leave the Fluconozole in for a little longer this treatment?

Tell me which Fluconazole you are using ??
The one from the pharmacy or Reef Flux ?

* If from the Pharmacy then you can leave it in the tank for 21 days

* if Reef Flux then you can keep it for 1 month with No problem and with skimmer on and with Row phos

The first treatment I used the Fluconzaole from pharmacy and the 2nd and 3rd treatment was Reef Flux. I'll try leaving in a little longer this time. I see on this thread that people have been running continual doses at reduced strength with no ill effects. Thanks for the info.

I'm treating my 210 tank, probly 225-230 gallons total with only the 100g bottle of reef flux. I only had 4-5 little tufts of bryopsis pop up, and even just the 100 G bottle is treating my tank well. it's already starting to lighten. added my skimmer back after 5 days. I have another bottle of flux OTW assuming the entire dose is necessary.

Well i started another treatment today for the dang bryopsys, since my last experience where it eliminated the bryopsys but caused some detrimental effects to certain sps(also discovered high electrical current in the tank from a powerhead) im starting with a lower intial dose and if it see results in the next week i think im gonna keep the low dose going for longer, may be a few months to see if it doesnt end up coming back like my 1st experience with it. Been plucking it out for the last couple months but that got old and figured i would try it again, just hoping that the high electrical current was the culprit on the demise of some of my acros the 1st time around. Got my finger crossed.

yeah that seems to be the consensus with this treatment. some SPS will die. Had it happen to me too.

For me acros, some montis suffered a little but bounced back, lps, zoas, shrooms were not affected, only acros didnt matter if it was a frag or colony. Problem since then is it came back with a vengence in alot of different locations than before.

48 hours in with half the dose recommended and bryopsis is starting to change colors to a gray tone, atleast I’m seeing some results with half the recommended dose and just 2 days in. Crossing my fingers my corals don’t suffer like last time.

saying this as nicely as i can... I think you are nuts for doing it twice. I wouldn't do it. hope all goes well for you.

I realize im nuts but hopefully with half the dose this time suggested by the op im hoping all the corals will be fine, trust me im analyzing them with a microscope. 1st sign of trouble and im stopping the treatment. Will update weather good or bad.

So 5 days in and only acro affected is 1 that was decimated last time but had enough life left to regrow in the last few months but now its gonna be a goner for sure. Bryopsis is really whithering away and im determined to get rid of it for good. This treatment works but is definitely not reef safe and in my 1st experience it did come back. I would never do this if i had an acro only tank full of expensive frags and many colonies.

@NCreefguy
I treated GHA and Bryopsis with fluconazol. but in that time you don`t said about continuous dosage and they came back. now i`m happy that you added it.
you said that after 3-6 weeks treatment we can use activated carbon. also If I understood correctly, you said after treatment we can dose ( for example ) 10% of the original dose, after each 10% weekly WC for continuous dosage. When we used activated carbon after treatment, it can remove fluconazol. what is your solution for this problem ?
