I have attached a couple of pictures and hopefully they work for this, but I have been thinking I have bryopsis in my tank. It did come on after putting in a couple of frags. At first I just thought it was a GHA but now I am just confused on what it is. It has very long strands and if I don't get to them after about 2 days it seems like they will grow out of the top of the tank! The one thing that has confused me a bit is the large batch of this algae has started turning white in the daytime and I don't know if that is a form of bryopsis or if that means it is something else. I really appreciate any help or if you want me to take better pictures I can do those later in the day. I also included one photo of little sponges I seem to be getting in the crevices of my rock. I think it looks like a pineapple sponge but just wanted to make sure this was not something added to the algae problem. Thank you all very much!

I agree the third picture is of a sponge. Wow, the other stuff is crazy!!! I don't have any input into that, but there are a few things people have been trying recently. #Reedsquad, what say you?

What are your nutrient levels at?

I experienced something very similar.(much less of it.) It feels like human hair?
my solution was to scrub and beef up the snail crew honestly. Never came back.

I really appreciate you guys taking a look at this and letting me know what you think. It is weird stuff and it popped up once before and I thought I got rid of it. I scrubbed a couple of rocks and I also added a larger cleanup crew at that time. When it came back this time, it came back strong!! I've got most of the left side of the tank done but the pictures were from the other side. The corals and fish are doing fine and I actually am on day three of treatment thinking it was byropsis (using fluconzole hoping this was correct treatment). I have attached a photo of my recent entries for the tanks levels. Thanks to everyone again and let me know if you can think of anything else I might be doing wrong.

its not wrong. Algae happens. IMO the fluconazole may help you but I would scrub it down to have more effect. I did this to my bryo and it was gone in 7 days. it too 10 to see any effect on GHA I had.
