I quaranteen all of my corals, but somehow, one brought Bryopsis to my tank. last year, it got really bad. In the mediation, I have turned down my lights (intensity and timing) multiple times to now just 6 hrs. I have also reduced my feeding and have also turn to making my own frozen food so that I don't feed pellets. I try to syphone most of the bryopsis out when I do my water change, but within days it just grows again.
Back in Oct of last year, I tried FluxRX at the recommended rate, I saw some results, but it came back again. In January, my LFS suggested that I try FluxRX at double the recommended rate, which I saw results. I thought I won the battle with Bryopsis. But unfortunately, after six months, it came backa gain. I just tried FluxRX again a month ago, and it did absolutely nothing. Could it be that the bacterial has gotten used to FluxRX or can it be that FluxRX doesn't work. I am still running my lights at 6 hrs and I'm feeding my own homemade fish food in smaller amounts.
I have rampped up my cleaning crew with getting another lawnmower blenning totalling two, a Mexican Sea Hare, three urchins, and a bunch of snails and hermits.
But the Bryopsis continues to take over.
