Bryopsis or not?

I have this algae in my tank and it's getting worse it looks like. A guy at my LFS said that it's bryopsis but I'm not really convinced. But I'm not sure if it's 'just' GHA also.
It's not easy to remove from the rocks and scraping it of with a toothbrush also isn't easy. I've had GHA in the past and I remember that I could easily remove that with a brush. But when I take a closer look I cannot see the fern leaf- like shape that bryopsis is known for (?) I have a foxface and a tang and they don't seem to like it so that makes me think that it maybe is bryopsis... I have a few pictures so maybe you guys can help me out a bit so I can figure out the next step in getting rid of it. Thanks and happy holidays!

Bryopsis is thicker, feathery, and feels like you are ripping grass out of the dirt when you pull it up. To me, that doesn't look like bryopsis.

That looks like hair algae.

If you can take the rock out and scrub it off that will help. Follow that up with more things that supposedly eat hair algae. I say supposedly because a lot of things that are supposed to eat hair algae just ignore it.

But isn't is strange that my foxface, tang and starry blenny don't eat it? Usually they love picking algae from the rocks.

Not bryopsis, that's a good thing then. Or at least in my mind, hair algae is 'better' then briopsis...

I may try that. Get out the rocks that can be taken out. and clean them up.

If it becomes such a dramatic issue, both typically can be wiped out by fluconazole. I usually recommend this if nothing else works

Herbivores don’t touch hair algae when it gets that long. Grab yourself a toothbrush and trim it down.
