Bryopsis outbreak and Flux Rx

So I have a bryopsis outbreak in my tank and currently dosing Flux Rx and what I read online and what is on the package have two different directions. I'm going by what it says on the bottle but was curious why there are 2 completely different directions out there.

BOTTLE DIRECTIONS
Turn off skimmer and discontinue using activated carbon and phosphate remover until treatment is finished. (100 mg) into aquarium for every 5 gallons of water to be treated. Repeat every 24 hours for 5 consecutive days. It is suggested that a partial water change be made between treatments. Discontinue use if no improvement is noted after 5 days.

ONLINE DIRECTIONS OFF BRS
Add 1 level large scoop of powder per 25 US gallons, or 1 rounded small scoop per 5 US gallons. Dose powder to a high flow area of the aquarium and allow to disperse throughout the display with the current. Allow 10 to 14 days for results.

I would definitely turn off the skimmer and discontinue carbon/GFO use if they recommend it. Beyond that, I don't have any explanation of why the instructions differ (but I always go off the manufacturer label).

I had bryopsis once two large patches, I used the product as per manufacturer and it worked like a charm. I'd follow their instructions.

I’ve been adding for the past 3 days? But had to order more and now the new box has different directions. Should I stop adding for now?

Mine said add large scoop for 25 gallons on the box..and small scoop for 5 gallons. It worked for me. Bryopsis damage was evident within a few days. About day 15 it started breaking down some gha as well

Did you just add once or once a day for 5 days

Put it in a cup of tank water and mixed it really well and added it directly to my return sump chamber all at once. Then, Put more water in and swish to get anything left over. I added a couple small scoops about a week later for s and g's. Had it about 18 days before I did a water change. Bryopsis showed signs within a week for sure...starts to receed and brown out

125 gallons
About 110 gallons after all the rock and sand displacement
4 large scoops and 2 small scoops to start
2 small scoops a week or so later

I am curious how your treatment has played out? I have not been successful w/ manual removal and nutrient control and am ready to give this product a shot.

I planned on removing my rowaphos and carbon, but for the skimmer I kind of rely on the gas exchange to keep the ph in line so I was just going to leave it running, but tune it super dry with no skim.

I have 125 total volume, and I am really trying to avoid removing my rockwork to overcome this as I have 3 pretty decent sized structures all mortared/glued together. It is doable but man i dont wanna do that.

I will be diving in a bit here today to see if I can find any reason I should try that before the Flux rx, but this looks like a much simpler route to attempt if people have had success and no harm to corals/fish

I never went for it. I am trying an algae scrubber and still attempting nutrient control
