I've been battling bryopsis for a few months. It seems to only grow in the same location always and on a few frags. I've raised mag with tech m but that didn't work so i've been manually removing it. I decided to pull the 3 frags with bryopsis and just target the one area when it grows.

I was doing some maintenance this evening and pruned some cheato from my fuge. I threw the cheato in with the infected frags then noticed something interesting..

It looks exactly the same as the bryopsis. I even tried to kill it and wouldn't die like the bryopsis. You can see where some of the other macro algae turned white. I think the bryopsis problem began around the time I added the fuge. So, did bryopsis take over my fuge and kill the cheato or did I buy a ball of bryopsis and not cheato?

It's bryopsis and can be treated with raising mag with Kent tech M. Although I don't know what corals you have that would respond negatively.
I believe sailfin tangs and occasionally koles eat bryopsis. I could be wrong though.

if I let it grow it feathers up. Pulled all the "cheato" out.
