Bryopsis reef rx question

Sup guys…..was cleaning tank today and noticed bryopsis in a few areas in my tank it’s not bad….so I wanted to start flux rx soon as possible….tank is 130 gallons with sump…should I add flux rx for 130 gallons of water or should I add less like 100 gallons because of rocks and sand??..thanks will this tick off my corals?

I used it by actual water in my 120. Dosed for 100 gallons. Works well but takes a week or so for the branches to start turning gray and die. This is when I start the manual removal process. I have used it with sps, nem's and lps with no issue. I believe it does impact the bacteria though. I've noticed my sand moves around easy when I've treated with flux.

Raise magnesium 1500 to 1550. It will turn the ends white and make manual removal easy.

I would hold off using fluconazole until manual removal starts to fail and it gets out of hand. Use your actual water volume not your tank size to measure your dosage. I personally believe most of the coral issues with flux are due to sudden changes in nutrients/water chemistry that can happen during treatment. I had a significant phosphate spike during my last round of flux. Some corals weren't happy with it. I'd suggest testing every day during treatment.

Just pull all the rock to set in sun or in room on tote lid or towel to dry out any coral with bryopsis on plug dip in peroxide scrape walls with algae scraper and tooth brush, next do 35% wc every other day slowly lowering the amount you taking out 1 day do 35 skip a day next day do 25% next day do 15 or 10 depending on severity, the only way to keep bryopsis in control is to cut out feeding fish foods high and phosphate, which general bryopsis and gha ialready sporulates in the tanks water and once it has a food source and enough white light it takes off

I would suggest manually removing dipping and siphoning with filter sock over chemical based treat
meant like flux or vibrant as it labor intensive but the only way to combat it

If the frag is on a plug u can just remove it but 3% peroxide get in places the naked eye cant see, if It were me I'd remove the rocks scrub with toothbrush dip in ro water after they sat for some time in a room or outside enough to dry algae off and sponge and remove

No need to raise mag and Flux is an alternative and not a solution and often upsets corals. It is important that there are no roots or it will simply return and I DO NOT recommend raising Mag which is a method for GHA - Not Bryopsis. This is one of the more challenging of algae due to need of its complete removal. Removal is best accomplished by taking the rock out of tank and placing in a container of tank water. Then you will want to pull as much as you can by hand and discard. With a dental pick or small crochet needle, pull the roots off the rock. YOU MUST GET EVERY ROOT OR IT WILL SIMPLY RETURN @!!
After you are done return rock to tank and reduce white light intensity and even hours of white light and add the following cleaners which will help with control. These guys will consume bryopsis but not as fast as bryopsis can grow - They will never keep up.
Pin cushion urchin, Chiton snails, pitho crabs, and larger astrea snails

This procedure is not as bad or time consuming as it seems. Assure phosphate levels do not become elevated which helps feed this algae

Its an assumption that you have bryopsis and pics under white lighting would be Very Helpful in confirming.

If it’s just a few patches you can pull the long bits then F-Aiptasia (or DIY calcium hydroxide mixed with sodium hydroxide) the holdfasts, roots, whatever. Or putty over it (but they tend to pop out through any gaps).
