This stuff is ******* me off. So I have a 50gal reef, straight killin it. But my refuge is quite new. I finally decided to go to refuge sand and mud but the mix I did was pool sand and mud. I heard that it was ok, however, since first using it I have noticed every tank I start or use it in develops phosphates constantly. Obviously, reason why I get the bryopsis growth in my fuge over night. BUT... Thats not my problematic thought. When I cut light out over night some night the bryopsis will starve out and die, yet when I leave light on over night it comes back. I am constantly doing this night in two nights out, just straight randomly. What is wrong? Should I pull the sand? Or should I change the light bulb. I believe the light bulb is old as a mummy but I am just still skeptical about the sand too. At the same time I have calurpa growing in sand bed. Will it live without sand and mud? Or will I have to forefit everything and just go rocks?
