Bryopsis

I've cut back on feedings and I've been changing my 2 Deltec media reactors every other week with Carbon and Phosphate remover. I need to keep my anthia's fed, so hence the issue!

Bryopsis will live in very low light and low nutrient. My hair algae in being fueled by the bryopsis die off.The hair algae is a very minor problem compared to the bryopsis,and will be gone soon.

Okay I thought I had hair algea but now I think it bryopsis, clearly I don't know my nusiance algea very well. Never had to deal with it before?

How do I know the diff?

I raised my mag to 1700+ with BRS 2 part, and then used tech M 1 mL per gallon dose every night for 3 nights. Bit strong, some lps/palys bleached a bit, but bryopsis is 95%+ gone

I don't see how some people are claiming success by manual hand removal of bryopsis. You pull 5 strands of bryopsis and you'll have 50 strands of it in that spot next week.

Yes but it looks very thick and corse or tough. My stuff is as long, hairy, but very thin, fragile, and is only about four or five stalks jetting out from each patch. You can't actually feel it when you pinch it off the rock? Its in very random places too?

My 2 tanks is suffering from it.. I neglected it for almost 3 weeks and all I can say is Byropsis is a B! lol.. I used to have them on my 180 but beat that thing with Lettuce nudi and weekly waterchanges.. Yesterday I pulled tons on my sand and a few big patches on the LR. I will get some Lettuce nudis again and will make sure I do weekly waterchange. Hope to see good results again

Yes they do but you have to constantly direct them to it all the time .. I know I killed about 8 before as they keep going to pump lol

lol Mine went through a power head 3 times, lived through all 3, and learned its lesson and never went there again and he is till with me munchin on algae. lol

I used seachem mag. and noticed my algae turn brown then die. I held it >1500 to notice the difference. Tested with Saliferts Mag kit.

What is this other BRS ?? brand of mag ?

Yeah, BRS is Bulk Reef Supply. A very cheap alternative that works about the same as other additives.

That alone won't do it. I used it in conjunction with raising the Mag.
