Hey guys, I heard Kent marine, doesn’t work anymore to treat bryopsis. Ive tried fluconazole, it worked, but came right back. Is there another magnesium product that will work like the old Kent?

How bad is the outbreak? I’ve been spot treating every few days with hydrogen peroxide per another member here. Seems to be very effective, I’m just using a small 1 ml syringe. This method would not be practical if you have a lot of bryopsis however.

Sounds like some folks have dosed the entire tank with peroxide as an alternative to fluco. Look up the dosage, I don’t recall the safe measurements.

It took me 3 attempts, final with a slightly higher dose, to finally (couple months now) hopefully wipe it out. Vibrant Liquid Aquarium cleaner used in combination with fluconazle is reported to work even better. There is a really long thread on this.

I used fluconazole. didnt water change for a few months to make sure that it was really gone. has not come back. hair algae is back, however. no affects of fluconazole being in the system for a few months noticed
