This is my battle with bryopsis. I did a 15 gallon water change then turned off the skimmer and dosed reef flux. This was done on march 11 2018. Some pictures i just took. A fts and some closeups of the bryopsis.

Do not turn off the skimmer, leave it on, without the collection cup, to oxygenate the water and to keep the pH stable. You can remove the cup and put a plastic bag, covering the skimmer, to avoid splashes of water and salt in the sump.

Be sure to remove the activated carbon if you have it. The UV filter, if you have it, should also be turned off.

Leaving the GFO on the line may be useful to remove any excess phosphate that results from the death and disintegration of the algae.

It worked great. I dont do maintenance doses. My po4 and nitrates went low so now im overfeeding to get nitrates up a little and started to get gha back. But nothing like it was.
