Definitely not bryopsis it's probably hair algae.

It’s real thin and “cottony”. Pulls off easily. Grows very fast.

Are phosphates zero?

Get an animal that eats it. Read up on the many different methods of phosphate and nitrate reduction that you would feel comfortable doing on your tank. Feed less. The phosphate test will show low w/ that much algae. It is growing on his coral.

I have a yellow tang and two clowns. Neither of them touch it. Thanks for the help. I’ll do some research.

Look up an urchin or conch. Look up phosphate RX, agent green or seaclear. Look up GFO. Look up peroxide. Look up manually removing with your hands. Look up algae fx. Lots of options, no miracle cure or snake oil.

I wouldn't eat it myself. It's a treat for some crabs also. Crabs are to be held without trust though. Especially emerald crabs. They go rogue.

I've had a lot of luck with trochus and turbo snails to curb GHA. I still do manual removal for the ones they can't reach. Make the snails work for you, and don't assume they'll get to that patch. Pluck them from where they are and plop them on that patch of GHA. They'll make quick work of it, especially the turbos.

All of the pictures I see on GHA shows that the stuff is pretty green. Mine is a greenish brown color.
