I'm also going to do this treatment in a Pico reef tank, as a personal extension of my project. I'm curious to see the effects on a Pico level as well as its inhabitants.

Tech m did nothing for the bryopsis in my 65. I tried everything, a few weeks ago i decided to change to a finer felt filter sock, the first week the crap started to die off and keeps losing its hold. I still have places where is growing, but very slowly.

What level did you take your Mg to? How long did you keep it there?

I have read mixed results but trying to keep my nutrients low just isn't getting the job done.

I am taking the approach at the moment that if you don't try you don't know.

I am just trying to figure out what has had been successful for some people compared to others.

I honestly dont remember how much i raised it each day,(my record book was ruined) tried the mg trick about three months ago. Im told that there are still bottles out there with the old formula, however the supplier i use only had the new in stock. Hoplefully you can find what works for your tank, this stuff is a pain in the butt

Well today my Tech M came in and I am going to give it a shot.

I figure my system has 150 gallons after subtracting rock and sand. The bottle says 1ml/gal will raise Mg by 13.8ppm. So my dose works out to be 819.4ml to raise my Mg by 100.

I dosed at 6:30 so I will test at 7:30 to see where I am at.

I was at 1640 before dosing.

So I overshot, as @stevo01 said I guess this is one way to figure out how many gallons I really do have in there.

7:45 Mg @ 1760

Daily increase of 120ppm, oops....

Will dose tomorrow based off of 140 gallon volume.

I took a look at an old bottle I have and couldn't find any lot or batch number, so maybe the expiration date will help. who knows since there still hasn't been any confirmation of formula change or when it may have happened.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but imo it would be great to catalog high quality macro shots in the tank, macro shots outside of the tank and shots under a microscope. I don't know all of the species of bryopsis but I know there's more than one.
