Sorry this pic is the best I can do due to the location of the rock. I bought this rock from Tampa bay saltwater a few years ago and after the initial die off I had this orange crust that looked like some sort of sponge, it steamrolled a patch of radioactive dragon eyes and got me concerned so I removed the main rock it was growing on but some remained on the base of the main rock. It has started expanding onto the base rock now so I’m going to try some kalk paste on a patch to see if it can be controlled that way. I removed it from a frag of pavona by dipping in h2O2 which seemed to have worked. As a side not the pavona was keeping it at bay and it wasn’t killing the pavona. After a lot of looking I think it maybe a bryozoan, at night the crust is smooth and a light purple color, during the day it gets fuzzy and turns a rust colored orange.
