Brypropis and GHA Treatment

My new tank is currently cycling but its filled with brypropis and gha. The questions go as followed
How do you deal with brypropis
How do you deal with gha
Is it normal to have these during a cycle

if your tank is cycling: is it fallow? (no fish/corals)

if so, cut the lights. not really normal to have bryopsis while cycling a tank unless it was introduced another way

i’ve added pitho crabs and emerald crabs and both have eradicated bryopsis in my DT. except for on top of my returns. before my nutrients spiked, i had a sea hare (dolabella ar.) that went to town on it as well.

there have been posts here of fox faces eating it as well.

it’s not typical for those animals to eat bryprosis. Maybe if they were starving or it wasn’t actually bryprosis. Reef flux is extremely safe. No need to buy a bunch of critters you don’t want that probably won’t fix the problem when such a simple, safe, inexpensive option exists.

My fox loved GHA but nothing touches Bryopsis in my tank.

onchidella floridana eats it. @The Wyld Zone sells them

edit: was going to get them but after adding the pitho crabs and emerald crabs i haven’t felt the need to. currently getting an extra pitho crab to company my other emerald in my sump to finish the rest off

A new tank set up cycling should not be having algae issues. You should have no lights on for first 4 months until your tank develops some biodiversity and then when you add first corals turn the lights on.

how would i clean the rock and all the water? I cant afford to drain the tank and redo it atm unless i buy premade

They certainly enjoy pest algae. Had a customer clean a GHA outbreak this week with only a few of them.

this may extend your cycle but…. perhaps dosing hydrogen peroxide for an extended period of time? once the GHA and maybe bryopsis are dead/withering away, then do a 100% WC and re-cycle?

at this point just using reef flux would be better

my tank cycled in 3 weeks. Lights were on as per normal. I had some brown

If no lights is it near a window getting natural sunlight?

Remedy to nuisance issues. Berghias knocked out all my aiptasia. Go Reeftown.

I can't legally get reef flux. I was thinking of dosing vibrant
