anyone notice there is a change in the formular for the IC Gel. The box had rebrand to "Coral Frag Glue" instead of "Aquarium Frag Glue". I had been using this for 10+ years and now it dries up too fast and after the first use, second use becomes impossible without cutting into it. The cap is also different, it comes without the needle. I don't know if anyone notice this and looking for alternatives now. Very unsatisfied with new changes

It's frustrating for sure. I had always used another named brand and starting having a similar issue - open new tube, use it once, and then have to cut it open the next time. What a mess. I just started buying the dollar store stuff and not worrying if I only get one use from it.

As long as I remember to clean off the tip before screwing the cap back on, I haven't had any issues with the IC coral glue.

I talked to BSI and they are reverting back to the original formula after realizing that the new formula starts curing so fast when wet , especially underwater, that it doesn’t get a good grip. The original formula should be available the first part of January and be identifiable by the return of the metal pin in the cap which is not present in the latest version.

I've heard people using gorilla super glue gel, I bought some but haven't tried it yet

i use this for a lot of purposes including frags and it works great. you just have to shake the bottle well before use.

this glue is fine. I just had problems with the bottle and the glue hardening inside the bottle. I only was able to use half the bottle. Definitely do not try to use it under water either.

The 15g tubes of Gorilla Glue Ultra Control Gel work great, work under water too... ~$4ish from WalMart.

The big tubes have always been a issue for me too.
I just buy the super glue gel minis multipack..

The original formula of IC-Gel has returned! You can tell if the tube is the bad reformulation or the original re-release by looking at the inside of the cap. The original good glue has the metal pin inside the cap.

They also have released a 50 gram tube, which is a better value. I have used a 20 gram tube up, and am part way through one of 50 gram and they both seem like the same original good IC-Gel we have all used in the past. I have tried them both out of and under water.

I like the BSI IC-Gel insta cure. Works much better than gorilla glue for me. A lot of people say that they like gorilla glue, but I find it to be more difficult to use. Has anybody tried this one? If the new is better than this...I need several tubes. :-)

Really 8$ for super glue.

There are certainly rip offs in this hobby, and the ridiculous price they charge for super glue, because it's "coral glue" is one of the biggest.

Plain old super glue gel(don't like the gorilla glue stuff) for 2$ bottle is all I use.
