Anyone know where to order BSPT PVC fittings in the US? I found a online pvc company that has them but they ended up shipping me NPT PVC fittings instead. I'm trying to work with their customer service now. Will update once I have more information. Why is it so hard to get BSPT fittings in US?

I have ELOS tank and Ecotech Vectra DC bump and all of these are BSP type threads so yo would want BSPT fittings to connect to them securely. The Ecotech Vector M1 comes with 1 1/2" BSP threads and the fittings they give you to convert to striaght pipe is only 3/4" so you ended up reducing the output.

Not even sure why Ecotech made a decision to use that type of fitting when folks with existing tanks that want to add these pumps need to change the Piping to BSPT?

I ordered the BSPT and it did not fit. I learned more about PVC fitting standard recently . It turns out the Ecotech and my Elos fittings are BSPP. I placed order from Ebay.uk with a seller that was able to ship internationally.

Interational/British standards:
1. BSP or BSPP are parallel threads - Europe
2. BSPT are tapered threads - Asia

North America Standard:
1. NPT are tapered threads

tapered means the threads diameter are smaller at the beginning and gets larger at the end of the fitting - good pressure fit
parallel threads have same diameter across the entire length of the thread fitting - needs sealing (oring or teflon)

There are other differences in the thread pitch between BSP(P/T) than NPT as well as the angle of the threads. If you buy something from Europe its most likely BSPP.

Ecotech Vectra M1 comes with the adapter/socket you can just connect to a straight pipe. For the outlet is is 3/4 inch straight pipe. But if you don't want to used the adapter and connect to the thread part directly, you will need 1 1/4" BSPP fitting.

Not even sure why Ecotech made a decision to use that type of fitting when folks with existing tanks that want to add these pumps need to change the Piping to BSPT?
