We received this freebie for our BTA tank, from a local reefer who just wanted to see it go to a good home.

It’s definitely the most colorful in our tank so far. Green center, then fading from yellow to pink as you go out. Not the best picture since it was literally right after dropping in the tank... but was wondering if it would be considered “rainbow” colored, or if anyone had a different description of this coloration?

I think it’s pretty cool looking either way!

Looks like a standard rose to me.

Could very well be, I’m not well-versed in the different colors they come in [emoji23]

This one is just much different than our other RBTA’s has like a yellow-orange hue between the center and pink tips... so was curious.

@cancun your “regular” RBTA looks like our regular ones for sure. But, your rainbow looks a little different... unless it’s the lighting/photo. I’ll see if I can’t get some better photos now that it is settled in more.

Yea, see that has that yellow tone in the middle too. Awesome looking!

The BTA tank is in our basement and I just went to look and the stinker is pretty much hiding underneath one of our bigger RBTA’s at the moment, so I might have to wait until it settles in and comes back out for light to get a better picture lol

This was the best I could get... it’s squeezed itself between a smaller green one and the big rose.

My single started many years back and over ~15 years the colors have morphed from a solid Red to what you and I now have.

I honestly cannot tell you how many have dropped from the original and how many I've donated to good homes and presently have ~23 to 25. Time to thin the herd out again. argh.

Yours are quite beautiful as the others shown in your thread. And thank you for sharing. :)

I totally agree! I think rainbow nems are beautiful! Although I really think most nems are beautiful! LOL!

The BTA colors are likely a single protein that transitions from red/orange to green (possibly vice versa.) The orange color will bleach if light is too high.
