Hi.

I have a very small BTA in my tank, I've just got it.

It looks very awful and damaged since the last 2 days.

I'm assuming that it has been damaged by an hermit crab that was constantly playing around.

Could hermit crabs be harmful to BTA ?

I just want to remove all my hermit crab from the tank now, because my BTA is very small and I want to protect it.

What could I do ?

Post a pic.
Could be many reasons.
How long have you had it?

I hate...hate crabs, but don't think they would necessary mess with a nem.

Unless it was a zebra hermit, or one that isn't typically sold as a CUC member, it's unlikely a hermit messed with the BTA. Crabs get a bad rap in our tanks because they tend to go rouge if their owner doesn't properly care for them. But even so, it takes a very stupid crab to go after a nem.

Important things to do
1: list every livestock in the tank
2: post a photo of the BTA close up
3: post a photo so we can see the BTA and most of the tank at once.
