18 months ago, I bought 2 BTA from a local reefer. They came with the rock from his DT. They grew pretty large and they both splitted at the same time into multiple. I think I have 10-12 now and they are all fighting for the same rock with the 2 smallest one got booted to the next rock over. As you can see in the pic, they don't wander off. They took up the right half of my 55g non-skim system. Oh ya, these guys are super hardy. My stupid clown fish won't go near the nems...:(

Those look great. You may have discovered the secret to keeping them happy and healthy. I have never seen them that big and healthy before.

Congrats! I never had that luck for BTAs and mine moved so often and committed the self suicide at on point crawling into my hanging filter. They look fantastic and shame the clown doesn’t seem to have any interest.

buy about 5 skunks I guarantee they will dive right in
My beloved pep shrimp went MIA a few months ago. I wonder if the wrasses ate it. I'm afraid the skunk would have the same faith.

I agree with that. Maroons tend to be not as picky but you probably have to take that clown out.

Nevertheless, those are beautiful BTAs. Glad you had more luck than me. My shop says LTs are so difficult to keep VS BTAs and I found it quite contrary. I have two LTs and no issues.

I have no luck with LTA so far. I want a seabae, but I haven't found one locally.

Why? They are bleached?

I was afraid you were going to ask that, and it's kind of a complicated somewhat confusing answer, but I'll try.

No, it is not necessarily that they are lacking zooxanthellae as they come in beautiful colors such as grey, violet-brown, off-white or a greenish, with some having blue, purple, and even mauve tips.

Some will say it is a good beginner anemone in the hobby and that is rubbish because it is a difficult anemone to keep and should only be attempted by the advanced hobbyist who has a lot of free time to care for it.

They are beautiful animals but can be difficult to care for. If the greenish tint is in the off-white one you are in good shape.

I never found anything in my studies as to why the 'whites' don't do as well as the tans but have not seen anyone in the hobby with an odd-white have success.

IME, a nice purple, tri-color BTA's tend to a tad easier other than a Condy Anemones (still needs good light) which is pretty aggressive, moves around the tank and can/will sting and inflict damage to other anemones, corals, and fishes of course. I actually kept a Condy tank once to study with my two meanest Maroons. They actually loved them. Arg. Maroons. haha

Anyway, hope this made some sense. I'll shut up as I can be known to ramble.
