Hi Everyone, I have had My BTA in the tank about 2 weeks he is small and he has stayed in the hole that I accidently dropped him into.\, he has good light here He seems happy and he is open most of the time. Today I decided to feed him, I gave a very small piece of shrimp, witch he ate right away. My question is how large a piece should I give it and how often I think I should have given him a larger piece

With sufficient lighting I would not feed a BTA anymore than bi-monthly and tiny pieces. I have kept BTA for years without supplemental feedings. Many hobbyist do routinely feed their BTA's without incident. Remember an anemone has a slow digestive tract, larger pieces of food have the potential to begin to decay before digested leading to fatal bacterial infections.
Anemones in the wild seldom get lucky enough to catch a fish, especially if hosting clowns or damsels. Any fish approaching a hosting anemone would be immediately run off by a residing fish.

Looks like a beautiful healthy anemone. :-)

At that size I like to stick with a size of a pencil eraser. You dont want to feed more than one every 3 days so it has enobugh time to digest.

Thanks this is the first anemone I have ever kept, the piece I gave him was smaller than an eraser I will try a little more mid week but I think he's happy.

Nowadays I feed mine maybe once a month - sometimes once a quarter. They'll get larger with regular feedings - several days apart to allow for proper digestion. They have one hole to rule them all - need time to digest and poop!

Thanks so far so good I got worried last night he closed all the way up but it was due to a small hermit crab fell into him. Looks like he is doing good for now thanks for the insight

Looks good , I keep various Nems and feed once a week and just a small piece of raw uncooked shrimp . They usually bloat up after a feed . Light should normally be enough if the correct type. If you want him to grow quicker feed regular otherwise feed sparingly , bear in mind he may go walkabout if really hungry in hope of finding lunch in a different place .... Good luck

Thanks, I wouldn't really mind him to move I sort of dropped him when I was trying to place him but he seems to like his hole. He is mid way up on the ricks so he's getting good light
