I just got this BTA from my LFS and I noticed this white bubble of sorts on its foot. Does it look like its foot was injured when it was removed from it's tank at the store? The spot in question is on the left side of the foot.

messentrial filaments coming from foot , most likely injured while being moved. It can recover as btas are good at healing themselves , do not disturb further and provide stable parameters and do not feed for now

Possibly, but it's tough to say without a closer pic and white light. Luckily these tend to be pretty robust anemones. My vote is: put it in a spot that is likely to be a good place for it to settle and let it settle in. For an organism that can die if you look at it wrong, these can be quite sturdy.

It doesn't seem to want to attach to the rock. I have all my flow turned off, but it hasn't grabbed on at all in 30-45 minutes. Should I leave the flow off until it attaches?

Try tying it to rock. LOOSELY. with a rubber band and see it attaches.

I don't have any rubber bands, but I found a crevice about the size of the foot and set it inside it. It doesn't seem to be falling over in it's new spot. I'll check back in on it in 30-45 minutes or so.

It hasn't moved from where I put it. Hopefully it can attach here. I'll update the thread when anything of interest happens. PXL_20211221_002740514.jpg

The nem didn't seem to want to attach to the rockwork last night. I made a few attempts to set it in a crack. It held on for a short time then started to tumble around the tank. I put it into a little fish breeding basket I had overnight so it would get injured and it seems to have attached. I don't want to hurt its foot any further trying to remove it. Any suggestions for getting it out?

I was considering disassembling the basket and allowing it to walk out on it's own. At least it seems to be looking healthy. It's mouth is closed and it's not all shriveled up. PXL_20211221_154620642.jpg

I would leave it in the basket for a week or so, so long as it can get light in it, but it looks bleached, so make sure it’s not getting blasted with light. Try feeding it in a few days (something small like brine or mysis), but don’t over do it,

Set a power head in the basket aimed at it it will close up detach a little and then you can pull the basket for a minute or and it will completely let go and fall off. I have to move mine every time they get close to my chalice. They made a huge dead spot in the heart of a 10" plate latching on

It didn't get much more light than it did at the store. It was about that pale when I got it. Seemed to look happy at the store, but maybe it could be a little overexposed to light. This pic was taken under white lights only, so it probably looks different than the other pics taken under blues.

Leaving it in the basket seems to be a good idea for now. I'll try to let it adjust/heal undisturbed and I'll try moving it later in the week.
