Do all bta get so big? I currently have one in my nuvo 40 for my clowns and it has gotten so big it almost dominates the whole tank. Originally I planned on moving it over with my clowns to a Cade 1800 but it is so big I would fear for my other fishes lives. I would like to keep one if it would stay a decent size but if they all grow so large I might go a different route. I hate to pull my clowns from it as I have never seen them so happy.

Might be to late, but I put mine in a glass globe from aqua rocks. Mines still a baby though. I'm just trying to keep it from stinging my sps coral when moving about though.

No all get big. I heard people on here complain their keep splitting rather than stay big. My however splits twice in 14 years so it huge

So i got him in November of last year. Here is then Vs now

From my personal experience green BTAs don’t split as much as rainbows. Most of the ones I had would just grow while my rainbows would split at the 8” mark

Really? My experience was totally different. My GBTA was splitting like crazy I had to get rid of all of them

I don’t feed it. Problem is it is impossible for it not to feed at this point. It’s so big it’s impossible to feed the tank and not him.
Just a thought maybe you need to spot feed it so it split and get smaller

I lost a kole tang in that tank and I always suspected the bta stung it. That’s what makes me nervous about putting it in my big tank. I have 3 tangs in it along with other fish and it’s so big I’m sure easy to get stung. I thought about splitting it myself but don’t want to have to do that all the time to keep it smaller.
