I got him almost ten days ago a big bta for my 2 clowns he moved from his rock he was happily on at the lfs to the back of the tank I don’t think he’s getting much light ….I have 2 mini bta that are thriving …when should I be concerned? Should I move the rock so he’s exposed? I know they move around when not happy but he’s staying in that one spot

You can move the anemone and help it find a better place. They move around on their own but I don’t think they always find the best resting place. Sometimes they just need help finding new crevices to lock their foot into.
Your light, flow and water quality have an impact on anemones staying put as well.

I agree and I would add that I’ve had one hide for a month and one night move into a more permanent position that was more favorable . Be patient and make sure the current isn’t too strong throughout the whole tank . They will take a little current but not strong current . Strong current is how I used to separate the parents from the babies. Make sure to feed them one he moves to where you like and he wants to be so he doesn’t move again in search of food . I actually now have a flower anemone that moved to the back of a rock and has been there for 7 months and a week ago he moved to the side where I can actually see him with out looking over the tank . Patients . I wouldn’t mess with him unless he’s showing signs of distress . Happy Easter

He’s taking silversides np …can he live without light as long as he’s fed ? He seems so happy in his dark hole but there’s no light maybe on the reflection on the glass that he’s getting …anemones besides the apista(they grow np) r so hard for me to keep alive no matter what….this is the first one I’ve gotten to eat

Ty guys happy Easter crazy thing is he eats silversides then goes right back into his dark hole I hope my two clowns aren’t being rough on it he also loved live brine
That’s a good sign it still eats

If you can tell he’s literally hiding

Yes I would just give him time to figure things out . They can reduce themselves to get into pretty small spaces , he’s eating which is a good sign. In the meantime check out how much current is flowing at and around him , if it’s too much he may go all the way in and pop out the other side to who knows where . Just make sure he keeps eating and keeps looking healthy . Now on the other hand if everything else is in order feeding him while he’s there, he might not leave as why would he . He’s in a comfortable spot , he gets fed , to him it might be a great place to hang out . I’m not telling you to stop feeding him, that would be totally your decision . If it were me and everything else is on board ie: parameters, current etc . I might start feeding him less skipping a day , then two days etc to see if that would change his path and make him move to a more advantageous spot where he would also feel comfortable . And then if he moves start his normal feeding cycle back up again to keep him from hiding again . Keep us posted !

Ty for the reply obviously you can see my clowns are in love sadly he seems very comfy in this spot …idk maybe they can live if you feed them without light who knows I’ve always had bad luck with nems

It should be fine, with food it really does not need light as much. He has no reason to come out with a constant food supply lol I ignore mine and they split and grow like weeds. I started with 1 and now im over 200. Mine will stay in the sump in the basement which is completely dark and their fine when I pull them out and throw them behind a pile of rocks on the back side of the tank.. They always crawl up and find light eventually with no one feeding them.
