Hi guys. My green BTA is not doing so well or is it just doing its thing?
I bought it 1year ago. A litle bleech in the store.
Took a few weeks and it started to grow. From 7-8cm to 15cm now.
But now it just wont stretch out. Its like 8cm and bubbled up.
I have a clown pair that has been with it all the time. I cant see that they are more abusive to it.

The BTA is eating if i give it food. I dont feed it so much but the clowns is spiting out food to it now and then.

Waterparameters is on spot exept po4 that i cant get any readings of. Maybe dose?

When the light comes out it stretch a little more. Any tip?

Other corals.
Euphyllia
Leathers
Starpolyps
Gorgonias

Pics of lights off. Full streatch and how it is now. My camera is not getting the colors.

Mine did that. Actually it’s done that a bunch. Every few months it gets aggravated with life and gets tiny. After a week, it comes back out as big as ever. Sometimes when it does that, it splits. Probably it will be ok.

Ok thx. But this one has been doing this for almost a month :/

Boy... its really angry at something! Well, all I can say is this.... you will know if its dying. until then (even if) there's nothing you can. just let it be.
Yes thats what i thought. But its just weird. Nothing is changed over the year. I dont know if led lights can become weaker? Thought it is working or it isnt.?

Check your salinity. Mine will "get small" if my salinity happens to drop. Mine like 1.026

That anemone looks completely bleached. You need to be feeding it small amounts of meaty foods like mysis daily or every other day if you have any hope of saving it. Avoid foods like silversides or even big pieces of shrimp. It's going to be too weak to digest it well and will probably vomit the bulk of it back up undigested.

Over time, it can regain it's zooxanthellae but it's going to take some work. Good luck...

Thx. But as i said with the camera. Its not getting the color. I will fix a better pic.
Ive been feeding it 2-3days a week with cyklops and mysis since it started to shrink.
It has the same color as the big pic when it stretch out a bit. 2 friends has the same bta and exact same colors but not shrinking. Maybe all is bleech? Is 160w not enough maybe?

Is there anything else than the light that can make it bleach?
It hasnt moved since the first week when it found this spot. If it was the light, shouldnt it move closer then?

Is there anything else like parasites or something that could cause this ?

I was thinking that the euphyllia maybe sits to close but i have never seen its (fighting) strings.
Its about 7cm away when the anemone stretch.

Thx for the reply.

Not that you asked me but I'll second the feeding of small meeting foods or a few pellets. I've read a sources that suggest silversides are bad for them to digest due to the bones. Shrimp or chunks of are also hard to manage. The larger chunk theory is that it takes a lot more energy to handle and digest compared to smaller foods. I have 11 RBTA's and I'll feed them mysis or brine shrimp every other week when I think about it. I'll just thaw a cube or two, add some selcon, then let it sit. Add tank water, load up a turkey baster, then gently flush into the wavy arms. They will close up pretty quick after they grab a bunch and all is good. Pellets also work. With pellets again remember just a small amount. They will spit it out a couple hours later if it is too much...

I use ocean nutrition pellets. Maybe i should give the bta some of that to?

Now i just give mysis and cyklops.
How litle is litle? Now i stop the pumps when i feed and the anemone gets about 1/3 of a cube.
