At the moment I'm using basic t5 blue and white lights for my nano tank. Would that be enough to keep a BTA longer than a year? If not what are some good lighting types for BTA's and other corals?

Good morning! Welcome to Reef2 Reef.
How many T5 are on the fixture and what size is your tank? How far above the tank are the lights?

Only two. It's 75L and the lights are about 15 cm above the water.
yes it should be fine assuming you have quality bulbs and a quality fixture.

Im sure your aware the bta will walk around till it finds a good spot for flow and light so cover the powerheads.
With your tank configuration you can add something like a Current orbit, or a good "stunner strip" fairly cheaply in addition to or instead of the t5.
The Version 1 Current (no lenses) are pretty cheap right now.
