BTA mixing

So just curious how many of you have multiple color strains right next to each other. From the research I did it should be ok. We got a RBTA today and put it next to a black widow and they seem to be doing good. If you have anything like this. An I get some pics?

Tried red and green the green ones slowly melted away while the reds were fine. From my experience in a smaller tank you can't mix them.

I have multiple different color strains in my tank but I have heard multiple people tell me it is a hit or miss situation for BTAs

. It might be going well because my system is not small but so far I have multiple rainbows, a Chicago sunburst, a green, a black widow, and a Sherman BTA all in the same system and some are close/touching each other.

I had several Rose BTAs and green & purple BTAs together for years. Then I added a rainbow. First all the roses got smaller and smaller and disappeared and then the same with the green and purple until they disappeared too. Tried to sell off the rainbows. I could not remove and sell the rainbows as fast as they split.

My experience mixing BTA's didnt go well. I tried mixing a CSB, Supernova, black widow, wildfire and rainbow. The wildfires and black widow are fine together. The rainbows slowly shrank and disappeared. The supernova shrank and i could not save it. The CSB shrank but i was able to save it and its in its own system.

A BTA back from the brink!

Maybe i tried too many at once. They were all added within a couple weeks of each other. If i were to try again i would treat every one with cipro before putting it in the tank.

Its a gamble, try at your own risk. Know the signs and be prepared to take action. Good luck!
