I just picked up this sweet rose tip nem yesterday and woke up this morning to find him hiding under a rock barely visible :( anyone have any idea why or is that just gonna be his home?

That's common for them to do that on a new tank. He is basically acclimating himself to your lighting and flow. Just leave him be and he'll come around in a few days.

anemones are very timid. When I introduce one to my tank, I always try to build a shelter for them, sometimes just an overturned rock. I've had a ton of them and I've never seen one that will foot in the open (I know someone will say they have one, but I haven't). Mine have all footed either in a cave, or under a rock. Then, as it appears yours is doing, as they get acclimated and "brave" they will stick their head out looking for light and some flow. Mine don't like direct flow but would find a spot where the flow was just kind of blowing their tentacles. Good luck with yours, they are fun to keep as long as you can get them to foot away from your coral.

Thanks guys for all the help!, just one more thing is it normal for them to look like this now...

he was looking great all day!, went to go get dinner came home and now he looks like a deflated balloon with a whole in the dead center.. I usually feed everything tonight when the lights go out so would that do anything else to make him unhappy,

All my tank parameters are great!,
My ph is lower than I want 8.1 but nothing out of the usual

Do you know if the store you got it from fed it? Some stores do some don't. If they do it's just expelling Waste. Odds are it will look completely normal in the morning.

This site has the best knowledge!, anyways yeah today he looked mad now he looks great!, but unfortunately you can't see him in the front of the tank he's hiding out fully expanded :/

Well Today he passed away
Idk what I did wrong all perimeters are in check
PH 8.1
Cal. 440
Mag. 1200
Alk. 11
phosphates. 0
salinity, 1.023
Ammonia. 0

I am using maxspect Razor's

Reef tanks should generally have a salinity of 1.024-1.026. 1.023 is low but shouldn't kill corals. Not sure what happened

Yeah I usually keep it at about .025 but my last water change I didn't check the salinity in the new water... so this I will do another one soon to get it back up

Many Anenomes prefer to keep their bases or stems out of direct light by latching onto overhangs. If you can provide it with a rock or crevices where it can
Keep its base out of the direct lamplighting it will be happier. I rezd this about the anenome a few weeks ago when researching their natural habitats.
Just thought I'd share that.
