BTA Okay?

Hello, I moved my tank around about 2 weeks ago and it seems like one side of my BTA is a little more shriveled than the other ever since and hasn’t opened fully (see before in after pictures attached) I have never had it take more than a few days to open up after I make it mad so I just want to make sure this is normal behavior... mouth is closed tight still I can see it just can’t really get a picture.

I don’t feed it. Never have. I feed the tank and the clowns drag food into it. Iv always been told by my LFS that feeding BTAs isn’t worth the risk of them getting infected.

Infected? Okay... I have 5 btas and I rarely feed them (maybe once or twice a month), but whenever something is wrong I always offer a very small piece of meaty seafood. It will eat if it's healthy

He ate it... guess he’s alright just adjusting to his new environment. I’ll start feeding him once every few weeks moving forward. Thanks!

try giving him a small piece of (thawed) frozen shrimp or if you can find them littleneck clams. Mine bloom when fed either of these and they're 16+ years old.

Yeah I gave him a few pieces of broken up Mysis. Sounds like everyone feeds them! Maybe that’s why mine had barley grown in 8 months!
