My BTA was around the same spot as pic. It would move a little up and down from this spot. Now its behind the rocks with no light. Should I be worried? Cant get a pic from it's new spot but I can see it still extending. Just a little worried. Thanks.

Do not worry. It is just adjusting and finding a good spot. You can supplement food if you are worried about nutrition. Frozen brine or mysis is always good.

Yes I did. I turned my light intensity down and cut back the number of hours. It stayed there for a week and a half. I've fed it twice. Last night it just upped and moved to the back with no light.

BTA has been without light for 1 day. I can barely see it but I can tell its little smaller but tentacles are still extending out. My other BTA is front and center and hasn't moved and looking healthy. When if at all should i step in and get it out? I would have to take out a major portion of rock. Thanks

Almost 2 weeks. Tank is a little over a year now. Biocube 32 with 165w light. All parameters are good. Not sure on Alk. Though.

If it looks healthy before it decided to go into hiding, I would lower the light by 50%, and wait a day. If it doesn't come out, point the PH at it to make it move. If you can't point direct flow at it, then bounce the flow off the back glass. You can slowly ramp up the light over as period of a week once it come out.
Another factor we haven't touched on is tank mate. Is there any tank mate that is bothering it? I have a big garden of BTA. My maroon clown patrols the garden. Sometimes the smaller BTAs don't want to host, so they will move. But they will always come back out for light.

Stopped home to eat lunch and found it out in front. I'm glad to see it. These are my first BTAs. Thanks for all the replies!!! Its was the green one I was worried about.
