Help! I just got home from work to find half of my BTA stuck to my Powerhead and the water was a little cloudy. I immediately removed the part stuck to the PH. By the time I got back to the tank the water was mostly clear. I changed the filter sock and immediately started mixing water (ugh! Just did a 30 gal water change last night!!). So my questions are:
1. The filer sock was not dirty...so I'm wondering where did the rest of the little guy go?? Skimmer is skimming but nothing way out of the ordinary. Is it possible my fish ate it...and if so:
2. Should I freak out and start saying my fishy prayers if they did eat it?
3. What now?
So here are my specifics:
220 gal reef tank
Razor Led lights (3 160s..typing on my phone so I can't search the rest of the description on these and can't remember...but they are the bomb!)
2 Jeabo WP40 Powerheads (apparently like to eat BTA)
Reef Octopus skimmer (2000 INT)
55(ish) gallon sump with refugium
Water chemistry is ammonia 0, nitrate 5, phosphate 0, calcium 410 (all of that was before the water change last night) I checked ammonia and nitrate since the BTA exploded and it is still the same.

Take apart the Powerhead and where it's stuck, place that peace in your tank with more flow and the anem will come out of its stuck position, hopefully cling to a rock

Your tank will be fine. I've lost a lot of anemones that way, never a problem except I lost half or a full anemone. They bounce back very quickly

Whew! Ok...good to know. I am TOTALLY bummed about losing it. I am going anemone-less (is that a word?) for a LONG time. I just don't have any luck with them. I've read so many threads about the total destruction of a tank after this happening that I was in total freak out mode. I just added a Regal so I am NOT wanting to freak her out any more than necessary with too many water changes etc.. Do you think I should still do a big water change?

The rest of your anemone is most likely coral food.
I have a lobo coral that will eat anything that comes to close! Including anemones
