BTA vs Powerhead...Powerhead won

So i had this beautiful BTA anenome and yesterday it decided it wanted to meet my Gyre...Which didnt go well. I woke up this morning to a cloudy tank and noticed pieced of the BTA in the gyre. I picked the pieces out of the gyre and starting making water to do a water change.

I have a 265 display with a 75 sump and an oversized skimmer. Will it be okay to wait until around 5-7pm to do a water change? I am worreid about the fish dieing but i have to be at work today.


any thoughts / suggestions

If you can't do a water change until later,how about using new carbon if you run it?

Right now i just run a bio pellet reactor and a skimmer. I might be able to run out at lunch and get some carbon is this something i can just toss inthe sump or do i need a piece of equipment to run it?

It would work the best if you could place it in front of the return.Nylon mesh bags work the best.

okay i was hoping you were going to say i could just put it in a mesh bag. okay im going to try go get some at lunch and i can def put it right infront of my return pump

Hope everything works out for you.The clowns will look lost for a while,if you have any Torches,Hammers or any other LPS they will find something else to host in.I think with your large water volume you will be ok.

Is there's not high water flow by the return pump should I put it right where the drain is. On the front of the sump so waters is pouring out right in the pad

Ok cool I have the water dumping into the sump right on the carbon than hitting the bio pellet reactor than hitting slimmer than hitting return pump. Thanks again I just stopped home the water looks pretty clear so I think we should be okay man what a scare lol

How do the fish and corals look?I think i met you at Cherry Corals 2 years ago,were you there on a tour with a reef club?

The corals look okay nothing seems to be negativity effected but my lights done come on till 2pmbut I did turn them on to check everything looked ok fish seem to be okay I do need to replace the rotors on my gyre but I think we r okay. The Lear group has gone to cherry corals but I haven't gone with them yet
