My wife brought this home and said surprise. She has no idea what kind it is. I'm new to all this and haven't seen one quite like it yet.

Sorry. Yup its frogspawn. Not what u thought it was research research research !!! Make sure u give him tje best life u can congrats on.the new piece

Upon close examination ive realized its not. Theres no.other branches branching.off like it does on frogspawn. Plus after looking.up clays suggestion its a **** near match ive never heard of a chocolate nem ! Its very gorgeous tho

Frogs have different shaped tentacles, it looks closer to a torch than anything but even then their tentacle structures are also different.
OP, these are basic easy care nems just keep up with the water changes and have good lights :)

Edit: Ive had about a million nems from my previous tanks lol believe me not a lot of people see these so its a mistake that can be easily understood

There is a shop locally that gets them in on a regular basis and called them "blue bta's" personally, I don't see anything blue about them. Lol looks more like purple with silver tips. I really like them though.

I picked up 2. One never changed at all and is still thriving. The other faded away in 2 weeks in the same tank and same conditions. Go figure....

Beautiful bta, IMO :)
