I was wondering if anyone know how often bta split. This guy seems to be getting pretty big.

There’s no set time from my understanding stress is a cause Along with self preservation. Feeding helps doesn’t mean it will. I have a few gbta that are as big as dinner plates I have some the size of yours that have split a number of times.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve had this guy for about eight months. He used to be in the back of the tank. But I got a diamond goby a week ago. So this guy went for a walk all over and this looks like where he wants to be for now.

I had a small RBTA that never got any bigger than a baseball and it just split over and over and it's clones were the same way even in other people's tanks! But I have a friend with one the size of a soccer ball!

I believe it's stress as well mine got as big as yours and didn't split for a year. I did a 30% water change and left the flow off for about 3 hours and the next morning, there were 3.
