BTA

My LFS owner told me that direct feeding them can cause infections sometimes. You should be fine just letting the food naturally find the anemone when you feed your fish

I dont have a bt anemone i have a purple tipped condylactis anemone.. very beautiful... ive held it in my hands before, never felt stings.. so i dunno what ppl talk about them being monster stingers if you touch em.

Mine likes being in a cave in the shade for some reason... I feed it once a week maybe with a frozen cube of mysis lol

My maroon feeds hers almost every time I put a large piece of shrimp in the water, and that is usually a few times a week. Its doin' fine.

Never feed them.

I used to feed them and thought it was necessary but for whatever reason I stopped and they actually responded better and look more colorful after I stopped feeding them. Also has split 3 times since I stopped.

I would only feed them twice a week. Too much can cause them to stress out and split
Haha. Thanks. I got a small guy and feed him all the time. I would dangle food and it would take it so I figured he wanted it. He grew 3-4 inches in 4-5 months and split, then they both split again so I have 4 small ones. Been trying to figure out what was bothering him.

I let mine catch rods and mysis while broadcast feeding. Occasionally I will shoot some their way.

This.

You can read what I wrote above. But this is basically how mine eat as well. Instead of giving them a small piece of shrimp, they just eat whatever floats there way when I feed the fish. I don’t tune powerhead a or pumps off to feed so the food blows everywhere.
