So I got three btas yesterday at ReefAPalooza. How do I know if they are doing good and if they are happy? Everything else is doing great.

One more thing, I also got a Tomini Tang at RAP. He just seems scared, he’s eating mysis and algae off of the walls but he keeps going back to the rockwork. There’s nothing in the tank besides a pair of clowns that I’ve had for about 6 months now

Hi, give them a day or so to acclimate to new system, assure normal light ,params in check.
any probs ,come back here... :)

Keep a close eye on the Anemones. That tank looks brand new.

I added a 1.5” Tomini to my DT three weeks ago that exhibited the same timid behavior, would never see it unless I was inspecting with a red light. Still darts for cover when it realizes I’m in the room, but slowly getting bolder.

I found that if I changed my live rock from a denser stacking (originally going to be a LR holding tank until my 240gal is setup, and now to be a reef tank) to a configuration with more open space it started swimming openly more.

I also started training it by placing a spirulina clip front-and-center, sticking Easy Reefs Masstick to front facing rock work, and hanging out in front of the tank to desensitize it off my presence.

Do you plan on adding any more fish? I’ve been told that being around active fish can help them gain confidence. I’ll ultimately find out when my Melanurus comes out of QT next week.
