Bubba's SPS Journey

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee new tank time!!! :D haha

New thread or tagging along in this one??
It is really just a frag tank so there isn't much to document. There is no new equipment besides lights and power heads. I will continue to share the coral that I fill it up with :D. I will document what different corals look like as they start to grow out under radions compared to my t5's. Since it's all plumbed together it should be just the lights that are making any difference.
Hows your backdraft and bonfire doing? Started to table yet?
Still encrusting :(. I notice almost all my corals encrust a significant amount before shooting our branches.

I got the tank finished up today. With the aquatic life t5 fixture and the 3 radions hung 16" above the water, par is 250 - 375 through out the tank. I moved over some corals into the tank and I noticed the leds make the corals pop more than I am use to, maybe it's just the shimmer. I'm looking forward to see if there are any color changes in the coral.

This thread is why I visit R2R lately. Excellent corals and content. Keep it up, very inspirational.

How about a shortcake today.

Somehow I was 10 pages behind!

Excited to see the new tank. One cool thing that you may not realize is you are becoming one of the modern day greats. When I was newer, I used to always hit RC’s sps section and read the old school tank threads. Your thread here is stacking up to be one of those but with modern equipment and the “in” strains of corals.

Really well done! You should answer my Facebook message sometime lol...

What do you mean you're not getting the red? That's beautiful Bubba!
The other one I have that I didn't take a pic of is almost solid green, lol.

That means a lot. I have read those old threads so many times. I remember reading through almost 100 pages of Reefmutts thread in a few days. I was sad to see Biggles (Andrew) thread close down. I hope to one day be one of those threads one day.

I checked my facebook messages and I don't see any new ones or any message request.

Ahhh, makes sense. I was going to say... I was about to be amazed at what an amazing colorblind reefer you were. [emoji12]

I acquired an Oregon tort last month. The coral looked to be in rough shape and the day I put it in the tank I thought it was going to die for sure. It was even starting to stn at the bottom. I was happy to see over the next few days polyps started to come out and after a couple weeks I started to notice a color change. It took 6 weeks to go from almost dead to what seems to be thriving.

lol. I started to take a pic of the other one but after looking at it, I decided against it, ha ha.

Still impressive. Is the new tank another frag tank?
It is another frag tank. I call it a frag tank but it's really just another tank for me to grow my frags into colonies in as I just don't have room in my display anymore. One day I would like to get a bigger display but I just don't have room for it in my current home.

He's now on the Coral Essentials FB page posting plenty of pictures of his tank which is still going strong :) He's just found AEFW in there though :( :( He lives close by to me so I catch up with him pretty regularly :)

I'm pretty sure you're already one of those threads mate :) ;)

My tank still has room if you want to get some frags out of there ;)

Sucks that he found AEFW. I just gave their FB page a follow. Hopefully I'll see some updates of his tank.
