I might carry this experiment a little further and using just material from inside of the cell. And infect a naive tank to see if it gets bubble algae. Will artificially raise the n and p of the tank with NaNO3 and KH2PO4 and use a compact fluorescent grow light for lighting.
Any phycologist I have ever talked to says there are no spores in the bubbles. That idea seems to be a hobby myth
