I have some old live rock that is now dead rock from a tank I tore down about 4 years ago. It sat outside in the snow and rain since then. If I put it in my new tank do you think I will have a problem with bubble algae? I did have it in my tank before on said rocks.

Hi,

I don’t think you will have a prob, but you need to “cook” the rock first any way. It’s been outside for a while. A few weeks in a brute and bleaching or other methods would not hurt.

Wisconsin here also. Our water can be weird. Use RO water and utilize proper water management and you should fare well. Use liquid bacteria to help seed rock (such as Dr Tims or Bacter zm or 7.
Did you say snow?
